A caesura is the held breath inside a line of music — the pause, the gap. We build instruments that live there.
The work is unhurried and exact: effects that respond like instruments, not gadgets. Play the same phrase twice and you get the same answer — built to perform with, not to surprise you. Each product is one real word for an in-between state, under one mark. Restraint is the product.
01The instruments
Nine instruments, one grammar — the same powder-coat satin body, black knurled knobs and polished-chrome stomp on every face; only the body colour, the signal accent and the effect motif change. Each face mirrors the real plugin's controls. Antiphon is shipping and Battimento is a release candidate; the rest are playable betas, still in tuning.
Antiphon
It answers in the gaps you leave — your phrase, returned in your silence. A Color knob sets predictability, from exact echo through harmony to free variation; a polyphonic Wash builds a bed to solo over.
Sospeso
Catch a note and hold it open — step on FREEZE and a single moment blooms into an endless, glassy pad you can keep playing over.
Hemiola
Two repeats trade off at a musical ratio: the main echo fades early while a follower lingers and answers after — a rhythmic hand-off between voices.
Morendo
A reverb that slowly, beautifully dies away — feedback and tail decaying into nothing, the long exhale at the end of a phrase.
Battimento
Morphs from amplitude tremolo to harmonic — the partial shadow between the two — with the crossover itself sweeping across the spectrum. The most-tuned of the line.
Portamento
Slides between notes like a fretless, vocal voice — pitch glide that bends one note into the next instead of stepping.
Rubato
Echoes that breathe and drift with wow and flutter, like aging tape — time bent by hand, never quite on the grid.
Sfumato
A delay that never quite commits — phaser, reverb, or echo, never only one. Named for the painter's blurred edge where one form melts into the next.
Tacet
Plays the silences — chops your sustain into rhythm and pulse, turning a held chord into a played-with stutter.
02One grammar, every instrument
What makes the line legible on a dark stage isn't a logo — it's a grammar. It holds across every enclosure; only the finish and a single signal accent change.
Deterministic
The same input gives the same answer. These are effects you build on across a take, not a slot machine you hope lands.
House metal
A dark, tactile body; brass the constant metal; a warm brass-white "active" light. Each product carries exactly one signal colour.
The caesura mark
A brass ring — the C of Caesura — split by the musical break cut clean through. The gap is the brand. We keep it true.
People pay boutique prices for a feeling that begins before the first note: the weight of the box, the deboss under a thumb, the card with one good sentence, the seal. Every touchpoint — down to the screw and the foil — is held to the same restraint as the face. If a detail doesn't earn its place, it leaves.
That discipline is the luxury. Hand-built in the USA, in small runs.
"We describe instruments, not gadgets — then we stop."
